Doggie Dash–5K/1 Mile Fun Run: Bring your well-behaved pets at 8 a.m. Saturday (today) to join in the Doggie Dash 5K/1 Fun Mile Run. Donations will be accepted for the Humane Society’s supply closet.
May Day: Downtown Fairmont will celebrate with a parade at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday (today). The celebration continues with childrens games, food vendors, pro wrestling and a concert in the afternoon.
Master Gardener’s Plant Sale: The Farmers Market is at Third Street and Water Street in Lumberton. You can visit the Master Gardener’s area 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday (today) at the Robeson County Farmer’s Market. Perennials, succulents, herbs, vegetables and assorted other interesting items for gardening and caring for plants. The Master Gardener Program is a part of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Services.
Downtown Clean Sweep: This eventy takes place 9-11 a.m. Saturday (today) at the Parking Lot across from Adelio’s Restaurant in downtown Lumberton. In partnership with First Baptist Church, volunteers will be serving donuts and coffee. Clean Sweep volunteers will meet and will be provided with gloves and trash bags.
Painting Class – Happenings on Elm: Join Tanya Underwood at 6 p.m. Tuesday as she instructs a group on painting a “Hobo Flower.” The cost for the class is $35. Happenings on Elm is at 605 N. Elm St. in Lumberton.
Game Night – 219 Elm: Join the fun each Tuesday Night for Game Night at 219 Elm. Refreshments are available in the Legal Grounds Coffee shop. Bring your own games, or select from the collection available in house at 219 Elm St., Lumberton.
Farmers Market: Open 3-6 p.m. Wednesdays, the Robeson County Farmers Market showcases vegetables grown in Robeson County only. Local craft vendors are welcome as an addition to the market. Visit with the local farmers and get to know them. The market is open each Wednesday and 7 a.m. to noon on each Saturday, or until the vendors sell out — through November.
Job Fair: The Fairmont High School’s senior class job fair will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on May 22 at the Heritage Center in Fairmont.
Rob Cole – Happenings on Elm: Rob Cole is back — 6 p.m. Thursday at Happenings on Elm 605 N. Elm St., Lumberton. Cole, one of our loved local music artists, will perform during a magical cozy atmosphere.
Charly Lowry will entertain with her award winning voice and music Thursday at Your Pie PizzaCharly. Described by the Kennedy Center – yes that Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., Lowry is a musical powerhouse from Pembroke. As a proud Indigenous woman belonging to the Lumbee/Tuscarora Tribes she’s an Artivist who is compassionate as it pertains to raising awareness around issues that plague underdeveloped and underserved communities. Memorial Day: All schools, federal offices and many local businesses will be closed for Memorial Day on May 27.
Fairmont Memorial Day: A Memorial Day ceremony will take place at noon on May 27 at the Heritage Center in Fairmont. The guest speaker will be Dr. George Hogan, retired Army command sergeant major.

Special guests rotate, but the log for getting your “15 Minutes on Stage” remains open. (some restrictions apply). Enjoy an evening out with the fun at 219 Elm on Thursday nights.
