Coronation Street teaser: What happened to Lauren?
It’s been the question that every Coronation Street fan has been left wondering, what happened to Lauren Bolton? (played by Cait Fitton). In February, the troubled teen seemed to vanish without a trace, although evidence in her flat suggested there was foul play at hand.
As she is yet to show her face in Weatherfield or contact anybody, the police are convinced Lauren has been murdered. Although there hasn’t been a body found, the police arrested Roy Cropper (David Neilson), believing he knows something.
However, he’s always remained his innocence as a plethora of other potential suspects have come into light. With ITV confirming that viewers will discover what happened to Lauren by the end of the week, fans have shared who they believe could be behind Lauren’s disappearance or worse, murder.
As people are getting closer to the truth, Express.co.uk has a run down of everyone who could have something to do with the teen’s disappearance and the clues for each person.

Roy Cropper

Before Lauren went missing, she was working as a waitress in Roy’s cafe, where she once mistook his kindness for something more. Although she made a pass at him, he respectfully turned her away.
They managed to get past the awkward situation and all seemed well until Roy had to fire her for going through Bethany Platt’s (Lucy Fallon) bag. When he went to her flat to give her her final pay, Lauren told Roy she was leaving Weatherfield.
However, as he was the last person to speak to Lauren before she vanished, it put Roy as the main suspect for the police. Matters were made worse when Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) found Roy in Lauren’s flat deep cleaning and getting rid of some of her belongings.
When the police found out Roy had given Lauren more money than what she was owed, he simply played it off that he felt sorry for her. Adamant she’s just left town without saying goodbye, Roy has insisted he has nothing to do with her disappearance.
Does he know more than he’s letting on? Or has Roy been wrongly accused?

Coronation Street fans were shocked to discover that Nathan Curtis (Chris Harper) had been released from prison a while back and was working on a construction site nearby.
As Bethany spotted him at the reconstruction of Lauren's last known movements, alarm bells went ringing.
Knowing his history, as he had groomed Bethany for sexual exploitation when she was a teenager, she instantly believed he was connected to Lauren’s disappearance.
One clue fans of the soap spotted which they think could link Nathan to the missing teen is her necklace. Before she vanished Lauren was given a necklace by her mystery boyfriend.
It wasn’t long before people remembered Nathan had once done the same thing to young girls that he was grooming.
Spoilers for the soap have revealed that Nathan’s alibi for the night Lauren went missing will fall apart, leaving him rattled.
Could history of repeated itself with Nathan’s return?

In the early days of Lauren’s disappearance, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) was one of the people the police questioned. It comes as he showed kindness to the teen by tutoring her ahead of her GCSE English exam.
Knowing his history, as a few years ago Daniel was wrongly accused of having a relationship with one of his students Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby), he found himself in the spotlight.
With Lauren also working on the adult subscription site O-Vidz, Daniel is no stranger to the sex work world as he used to pay Nicky Wheatley ( Kimberly Hart-Simpson) to dress up as his dead wife when struggling with his grief.
As it was no secret Lauren didn’t have much money, some fans believed Daniel was tutoring the teen in exchange for sexual favours. Lauren’s friend Max Turner (Paddy Bever) also thinks Daniel knows something about what really happened to her.

Lauren and Max have remained close friends after starting a relationship a few years back when the teen was used to groom Max into joining a far-right extremist gang.
In recent scenes, David Platt (David J Shephard) finds a box of blonde hair dye and makeup under Max’s bed. The teen admitted they had once belonged to his friend and didn't want to get rid of them.
However, this discovery caused suspicion among viewers with many believing it was odd for him to keep the items unless he’s secretly been helping his friend and she isn’t dead after all.
Max’s blatant dislike for Daniel could also be a distraction from the police to try and make their attention shift onto him.

Griff Reynolds (Michael Condron) recently made his return to the ITV soap after being sent to prison for his far-right extremist gang crimes.
The soap villain has ties to Lauren as her dad Reece Bolton (Scott Anson) was part of his gang before also getting arrested.
However, people have started to speculate that Griff may have ordered a hit on Lauren after she decided to leave his gang and turn her life around.
Soap spoilers show Griff will target Roy in prison and try to get him to confess to killing Lauren, is he trying to frame the cafe owner so one of his gang members can get off the hook for being the actual murderer?

Although there are five key Weatherfield residents who could have something to do with Lauren’s disappearance, there is also a few other characters that have been suggested.
Bobby Crawford has been extremely involved with the case and even lied to the police to try and get Roy out of prison. However, if he has something to hide, his lie could be an attempt to make the authorities look elsewhere entirely.
Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) has also been suggested as she was engaged to Daniel at the time he was tutoring Lauren. When Lauren found out about her affair with Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) the teen tried to blackmail them, potentially giving Daisy a motive.
Despite her best efforts to make the police look at Nathan, Bethany may potentially be trying to deflect the attention away from herself. Another potential could be footballer Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn) who fled Weatherfield to live in Spain with Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) around the time Lauren went missing.
Finally, Joel Deering (Calum Lill) is another key suspect for viewers as the newcomer is no stranger to keeping secrets after hiding the fact he was married with a child to his girlfriend Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown).
With spoilers revealing Joel is set to represent Nathan when he gets arrested, could he be linked to Lauren vanishing and attempting to cover his tracks to avoid incriminating himself?
