Congratulations on your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World! November is going to be here before you know it!
I am going to give you the scoop on the best way to meet the characters at Walt Disney World! While you don't necessarily need reservations, there are a few ways to ensure you can meet the characters during your visit.
You can make an advanced dining reservation at a character dining location to reserve a time slot to meet the characters. I adore Crystal Palace, where I can meet Winnie the Pooh and his friends. Chef Mickey's is another great choice at Disney's Contemporary Resort. You can meet Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, and Donald.
If you prefer to meet the characters in the parks, you can wait in the standby line. You can use the My Disney Experience app and the "Tip Board" within Disney Genie to see the characters available to conduct meet and greets and the length of the standby line. For example, on the Tip Board for Disney's Magic Kingdom today, I see that the standby line for meeting Mickey and Minnie at Town Square Theatre is currently 80 minutes. I love having this information at my fingertips while in the parks! There are select character greetings available when you purchase Lightning Lane, but those are subject to change.
In Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge there are roaming characters, so you don't to make a reservation to meet them. It's a lot of fun because you can walk up and have a conversation with them and they stay in character the entire time.
