HOW CAN I STOP OCULUS APP FROM OPENING AUTOMATICALLY WHEN RUNNING NON VR GAMES

EVERY time i open ANY Roblox game (99% of which are NON VR games) the Oculus App on my PC AUTOMATICALLY opens and makes the game unplayable because it removes the menus and normal functions of the game and has it open in VR mode without a way to stop it. HOW DO I STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING? I keep seeing these more complicated fixes for similar issues but I'm not very tech savy in this way and hesitate to try anything with the internal settings. Why isnt there just an option that basic users can check that says ASK ME BEFORE OPENING OCULUS PC APP when running games???

Sounds like you're dealing with quite a troublesome issue @KitKatMeow! We would love to help get this resolved for you, however our resources for support are slightly limited for in-game issue with Among Us. That being said, we don't want to leave you hanging. You can visit the Roblox support team by clicking here.

If any member of our community could share some insight that would be greatly appreciated! We look forward to seeing if anyone else has experienced this, so we can better determine how to move forward.

FIRST OF ALL. They didn't Say AMONG US they said ROBLOX.

SECONDLY, WHY WILL OCULUS FORCE OPEN WHEN IM NOT USING VR WHILE I AM PLAYING RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2. ITS BEEN GOING ON FOR AN HOUR AND IT WONT STOP OPENING EVEN AFTER I END THE TASK.

Hey there, @RuNNerxJ! Thank you for pointing that out to us, we definitely appreciate your keen eye for detail. As for your game being interrupted by the Oculus app forcing open during gameplay, we understand how immersion breaking that can be and we'd love to help you get this issue sorted out! We'd recommend disconnecting your headset from your PC as we have seen other users have success by doing this. Please let us know if this works out for you. We will be standing by just in case further assistance is needed!

It's slightly technical, but here's a method.

- Press Control + Shift + Escape. That brings up the task manager.

- Go to the Services tab.

- Scroll down to OVRService.

- Right click on OVRService and select Stop.

The oculus software now can't start at all (OVRService is the core of the system).

To restore, right click on it again and do Start. Or next time you reboot it will be restarted automatically.
