Attention all performers! Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey with The REV Theatre Company? We're on the hunt for a dynamic duo - a male and female swing actor/actress - to join our incredible REV on Tour team!
But here's where it gets controversial... we're not just looking for any swing, we want someone who can bring their A-game to multiple roles across various shows. And this is the part most people miss - it's not just about acting, it's about being a jack-of-all-trades in the theatre world!
The REV on Tour is a massive in-school tour, reaching over 60,000 students across New York State annually. Our professional actors deliver tailored performances and workshops, ensuring every child has access to high-quality theatrical experiences. It's a long-standing tradition of excellence, and we're proud to be a part of it.
Now, let's talk about the role. As a swing, you'll be covering multiple roles across different shows, from kindergarten to high school. You'll need to be versatile, adaptable, and quick on your feet. But don't worry, we'll give you ample time to prepare and ensure you're ready to step into any role.
Here's a sneak peek at the shows you'll be a part of:
- An Itsy Bitsy Play: A fun, interactive show for kindergarteners with music and puppetry. You'll play various characters, engaging the young audience.
- Echoes: A showcase of middle school writing, featuring original music. This one's for grades 6-8, so get ready to inspire some future writers!
- Improv for All: A high-energy, improv-based show for grades 9-12. Think sketch work, scripted moments, and lots of laughter.
And that's not all! You'll also be trained to lead in-classroom workshops, from careers in the arts to interactive performances. It's a chance to connect with students and inspire the next generation of performers.
The tour departs daily from Auburn, NY, and we provide the company vehicle. However, a clean, valid driver's license is a must-have for this role. Typically, you'll perform two shows a day, Monday to Friday, with evenings and weekends off once rehearsals are complete.
As a company member, you'll assist with setting up and taking down the set at each performance site. It's a team effort, and we value every contribution.
The contract runs from January 5th to May 1st, 2026, with a possible extension to May 8th. Remote training will be provided, paid at an hourly rate of $16.00 (not exceeding 16 hours).
So, are you up for the challenge? If you think you've got what it takes to be a REV on Tour swing, here's what we need from you:
- A current headshot
- An updated resume
- A performance reel (if you've got one)
