Objective

Suggestions for teachers to help them teach this lesson

  • Begin class with a review or quiz on pp. 71–73.
  • One recommended activity for this lesson is to actually have students try to memorize a passage while playing a loud commercial so they can feel Montag’s frustration.
  • It also helps to show an actual sieve draining sand for visualization here.
  • The three things Faber sees as missing from society:

    • Motivation to act upon the information
