Lily Aquaria is a supporting character in Black Clover. She is a caretaker at the orphanage in Hage Village and a nun from the Hage church. She took care of Asta and Yuno when they were kids and is the mother figure in their lives, caring for them alongside their adoptive father Orsi Orfai. She is later brainwashed into becoming an antagonist by Lucius Zogratis.
She was voiced by Miyu Kubota in the anime and Ai Kayano in OVA in the Japanese version, and by Dawn M. Bennett in the English version.

Appearance[]
Lily is a small and relatively pale young woman with teal eyes and a beauty mark under the far left of her left eye. She wears the habit of a nun and a cross chain on her neck.
Personality[]
Lily is generous and loving towards children, true to her role as a nun and a caretaker, and has a family bond with the priest, who is Asta and Yuno's adoptive father, and the other children in their care. She is very responsible with children, having fun with them and caring for them while disciplining them when they misbehave. This somehow leads to Asta wanting to marry Lily, and becomes adamant about making the impossible possible after being repeatedly told that sisters can't marry. Lily has formed the habit of instinctively using Holy Fist of Love whenever Asta asks her to marry him despite the age difference and cultural impossibility of it. She loves Asta and Yuno dearly, and becomes worried when Asta stops sending her letters.
History[]
Orsi Orfai introduced Sister Lily to Asta, Yuno, and Recca when she was likely 16 years old. One day, when Asta and Yuno were 5 years old, Yuno returns to the church with a heavily injured Asta, who had apparently rescued Yuno from a thug that tried to steal his necklace. Lily noticed that ever since that day, Yuno no longer cries, and Asta always gets himself dirty while training alone. Lily heals Asta's injuries.
While living in Hage, Lily had gone to Nairn to Theresa Rapual's church for training. One day, she tells her about Asta, saying that he works harder than anybody else in hopes of becoming the Wizard King despite having no magic. Theresa noticed the enormity of her admiration towards the boy, and comes to admire him herself when Theresa and Asta cross paths and later goes on a mission with Asta and Gauche to rescue the children that have all been abducted.
At the beginning of the series, Asta is seen proposing to Lily until she forcefully silences him with Holy Fist of Love. Yuno then helps Lily with laundry using his talent for Wind Magic, making Asta jealous. When Asta is weighed down by his own lack of magic, Lily suggests that getting his grimoire might trigger his abilities. Lily and the others at the orphanage are shocked when Asta doesn't receive a grimoire, and Yuno somehow received the spectacular Four Leaf Grimoire. When Yuno doesn't consider being more friendly to Asta as suggested by a concerned Lily, she becomes even more concerned for Asta. In truth, Yuno was only treating Asta as a rival, knowing that he was stronger than he appeared to others, and gave Asta words of encouragement when they were attacked by Revchi Salik. That was the moment when Asta received the Five-Leaf Grimoire, and defeated Revchi with the sword that came out of the grimoire.
Orsi and Lily ask Drouot about Asta's grimoire, but the old man admits to being clueless about it.
