Luke Harris / Luke Goran is the son of Dr. Alex Reid and is named after her late brother, Luke Reid. His father was either Dr. Charlie Harris or Dr. Joel Goran. But Charlie and Alex decided not to take a paternity test at Charlie's request because he didn't want to know. This boosts his cred, and solidified his status in his family with Alex, but still does not resolve the question of whose genes are being passed on.
One argument in favor of Joel's being the father: how the camera cuts to Luke immediately after Joel, in the scene before Joel dies.
Joel was killed in a bomb explosion in Season 3, Episode 18 and Charlie died in the series final after being pronounced brain dead after a car accident.
Luke also underwent surgery after the car accident but made a full recovery.
