Chapter Thirty-Six

Jamal and Monse wake up in bed together, and they freak out. Jamal can't remember anything, but Monse says they didn't have sex.

He also has as message to himself saying that he met Lil' Ricky.

Ruby shares that Jamal told him about Abuelita's cancer. Jamal tries to recall what happened that night.

Cesar tells them that he met Lil' Ricky and where. Jamal wants the go but they have to call Chivo else to ride them there.

Jamal eats edibles by accident. And that's why he can't remember anything.

Ruby tells Abuelita how much it bothers him that she didn't tell him about her cancer, and that he's tired of everyone trying to protect him all of the time. She tells him about an envelope addressed to him in the glovebox.

Jasmine thinks Cesar texted her to say that he still loves Monse and wants to be with her and broke up with Vero.

Monse wants to talk to Vero to clear the air. But Vero gears up for fight instead. Jamal tries to approach what happened to him last night with Monse.

Monse has Vero in a headlock, and Cesar attempts to break it up when Vero knees him in the balls. They get called into the principals' office.

Ruby goes to prison in response to a letter. He's visiting Latrelle, the Prophet who killed Olivia.

Monse got high too and she was the one who texted Vero.

Jamal shows up at Chivo's upset that he can't remember meeting Lil' Ricky, but he's there and Jamal gets his do-over.

Ruby and Latrelle bond and talk about old times. Latrelle mentions that his mother doesn't visit him, and he wishes he didn't have to turn 18.

the other three meet up to talk to Lil Ricky at Chivo's place.

Cesar apologizes to Monse and decides that he should be alone for a while and they should just be friends.
