Great fun murder-mystery!
Great plot, great actors, and mostly family friendly. Many bad words are used (F-bombs, Jesus, etc), and there are two scenes that can be scary/shocking for younger children, such as when the body is revealed (blood) and when the Maid is found (scary), but they are very short and not emphasized. If your kids are OK with bad language, this is OK for tweens, so 10+. If your kids are sensitive, I believe this sticks to a PG13. Don't miss it - a great murder-mystery.

Solid Entertainment
This should be PG in my opinion. There's no nudity, sex, meaningful violence etc. You only really see blood from a man that has supposedly committed suicide, but it's not gruesome and it's the whole point of the movie. I think it shows a great message to kids about the negative aspects of greed, and entitlement. The story itself was very entertaining and fun to watch, and my daughter and I had fun discussing who committed the crime. There's some bad language, but not much, and there's a seen of two younger characters smoking pot, but they don't dwell on it. Nothing my child hasn't seen online and we've haven't talked about.

Not for those with Emetophobia
A main character has a condition that causes her to vomit when she lies. My 13-year-old daughter has emetophobia. After the first instance, about 20 minutes into the movie, the character threw up and my daughter had a panic attack. I left to take her home and cans back an hour later to join my husband. I missed a lot of a complicated movie. He is a tough critic and he said it was great, so as long as that doesn’t bother you, and the rest of the info like smoking, a slit throat, etc., isn’t a problem and you like The Who Done It style, it’s a great movie!

Great Movie!
Great movie! Fun mystery, Agatha Christie style! Amazing cast! Nothing inappropriate! The only mildly scary part was showing a dead body, but other than that, it's a great movie!

An uproarious all star murder mystery comedy. That deserves much more praise than it's given.
This film is one of the best murder mysteries since Clue. It's hilarious. It seriously is one of the funniest comedies I've seen in the last decade. It has a very high rewatch ability. With twists and turns that will keep you guessing

Awesome family favorite
Our family loves this move! I would recommend it for 11+ in general, but younger kids could see it, depending on their comfort level. This mystery will fascinate older kids, and maybe inspire them to write one of their own. A great pre NaNoWriMo movie!

Really Clever, Fun, and Funny. Great for an older family movie.
Knives Out is a great, great movie, so don’t be fooled by The Last Jedi into thinking that Rian Johnson can’t make good movies. There is one scene where a man slits his own throat, but the camera cuts right away, so that you can’t see blood. Earlier on in the movie you see him dead with a puddle of blood on his shirt, but only for about 3 seconds. A character is also killed by being injected with morphine. There’s quite a bit of strong language including many uses of sh*t or dipsh*t, and two ‘F Words’ neither of which are said very loudly. There aren’t any words most public school kids wouldn’t know. There are some sexual references that could very easily go over your kids’ heads if they’re younger. There also ends up being positive messages about how it’s better to be a good person than to be rich, and not to play by somebody else’s game. Overall it’s a great movie for older kids and adults that you should definitely watch.

A fun whodunit
The movie is really fun and my 10.5 year old son loved it. We had to pause it a couple times to review the characters and explain more adult terms like ‘motive’ and ‘medical examiner.’ There are a couple intense parts but nothing too graphic or scary. I highly recommend for a family movie night!

COOL MURDER MYSTERY/COMEDY FILM
Absolutely loved to watch this film with my kids, usually they are not really interested but this time they where quit as mine listening and telling each other who they think the murderer is. Though it was a bummer that it ended up being therapy for her. Otherwise I recommend it.

My current favorite whodunnit, and trust me, I don’t take that headline lightly
Oh, Knives Out is tricky alright. The mystery is complex and extremely well written, as opposed to the lackluster Murder on the Orient Express. (Which my family solved before the detective did. None of my family was able to figure out the murderer in Knives Out.) My family isn’t easy to please when it comes to movies, and we are even harder to please when it comes to whodunnits, and we all adored this movie. It’s smart, savvy, and just overall really, really good. In fact, it’s so good that I’ve seen it three times and have enjoyed it more every time I watch it. So would I recommend it? YES! Absolutely! Now for the content review… Violence: 2.5 stars. Since it is a murder mystery, there is a bit of blood, but really, not THAT much blood. There’s a scary-ish scene with a spider. Sexy stuff: 2.5 stars. One character is having an affair (he’s already married), we see a picture of him kissing his girlfriend. Slightly flirtatious behavior between two characters if you’re REALLY reading into things. Fran talks about how hairy her boyfriend was. Reference to what Jacob was doing in the bathroom all night. Language: 3.5 stars. S-words. Lots of s-words. Two f-bombs, some other more minor curses. Acting: 4.8 stars. The acting on Ana de Armas’ part is excellent, as it Daniel Craig’s. Chris Evans should play more parts like this, and everyone else’s acting is excellent too. Script: 4.7 stars. Brilliant. Every line, every gesture, EVERYTHING adds to the mystery. That’s how smart it is. Score: 4.5 stars. Unique, fits the setting perfectly. Cinematography: 4.5 stars. I was blown away by the way this movie was filmed, it’s beautiful in a dark way, and it really works for the setting and plot. Conclusion: If you like murder mysteries, you absolutely NEED to watch this movie. Even if you aren’t normally drawn to this genre, you should still give it a try. It’s sequel, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, is also phenomenal. So, if you’re wondering whether you should watch this movie or not, it’s ultimately your choice, but if you take my advice, then you should absolutely, definitely watch it.
