Princess Dining at Disney World: What to Know - NerdWallet (2024)

What’s a Disney World vacation without a little royalty? Whether you’re looking to share a Disney princess dinner with your spouse, friends or family, Disney offers a lot of options for those wanting something special.

Let’s take a look at some of the best restaurants for Disney princess dining, as well as where you’ll find them and the best times to visit.

How princess dining at Disney works

Character meals are a popular component of the Disney World experience. You can meet and greet a variety of Disney characters while you dine on special, often movie-inspired food.

Each dining experience offers a unique opportunity to eat with princesses and other characters who interact with diners over the course of a meal — including plenty of time for photographs and signatures.

Reservations open 60 days in advance and are strongly encouraged, especially for larger groups. You can make reservations online.

🤓Nerdy Tip

If you still haven’t decided where you’ll stay during your trip, note that those staying at Disney resorts receive priority access to restaurant reservations.

Disney princess restaurants

Cinderella’s Royal Table

Perhaps the most popular Disney princess restaurant, Cinderella’s Royal Table is the quintessential princess experience. Located inside Cinderella’s castle at Magic Kingdom, guests can choose to dine with characters for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Although character dining is currently on hold, all the princesses will return on Feb. 28, 2023. The characters that you see will vary by mealtime but can include Jasmine, Ariel, Aurora, Snow White and Cinderella.

Reservations are required for Cinderella’s Royal Table and are available to the general public starting 60 days before your trip.

Note that the restaurant isn’t open all day — there are specific hours available for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

  • Breakfast: 8 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

  • Lunch: 11 a.m. to 2:55 p.m.

  • Dinner: 3 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall

Another option for princess character dining at Disney World is Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. Located at the Norway pavilion inside Epcot, this family-style restaurant serves all-you-care-to-eat meals with both Norwegian and American influences.

Princess storybook dining is only available during dinner, although this period begins at 2:45 p.m., so it’s possible to make this event a late lunch. Otherwise, the restaurant is open until 8:05 p.m.

Again, you’ll see a rotating cast of characters, including Belle, Jasmine, Snow White, Aurora, Cinderella, Mary Poppins, Mulan and Ariel.

1900 Park Fare

Are you looking for a Disney princess dinner at Disney World? Consider 1900 Park Fare, the high-end restaurant located inside the Grand Floridian hotel. Although it’s currently closed due to a phased reopening, when available, guests can enjoy character dining for both breakfast and dinner. Food is served buffet-style, though if you opt for afternoon tea, it’ll be a plated meal.

Your experience will differ depending on when you visit. The Supercalifragilistic Breakfast includes interactions with Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter, Tigger and Winnie the Pooh.

If you have children, you may instead want to opt for the Wonderland Tea Party, which is geared toward kids from ages 4 to 12. Generally available Monday to Friday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., the event is hosted by Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter.

Finally, Cinderella and Prince Charming host the Happily Ever After Dinner, during which time you’ll spot the famous pair — and you may even get a glimpse of the wicked stepmother and her two stepsisters while you’re at it.

Artist Point

Like 1900 Park Fare, Artist Point is located inside a Disney resort rather than the theme parks, which means you won’t need park tickets for your reservation. You’ll find this themed restaurant at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, where storybook dining is available every day from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Artist Point features a prix fixe menu that includes shared appetizers, individual entrees and shared desserts.

The only princess you’ll find here is Snow White, though you’ll also get to visit with Dopey, Grumpy and The Queen.

🤓Nerdy Tip

If you want to dine with other Disney characters, there are all kinds of character dining options available, including meals with Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Trattoria al Forno

Here’s another option for princess breakfast at Disney World. Trattoria al Forno is serving guests, although its characters are temporarily missing from meals. When they return, you’ll be able to experience the Bon Voyage Adventure character breakfast, which includes visits from characters such as Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Ariel and Prince Eric.

Trattoria al Forno is located on Disney’s BoardWalk, which is a dining and entertainment district just outside Epcot. You’ll find other restaurants in the area, as well as several different hotels, including Marriott’s Swan and Dolphin properties.

Breakfast hours for this restaurant are from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., while dinner hours extend from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Be Our Guest

This last option is more of an honorary mention, since it doesn’t directly involve any princesses. The Be Our Guest Restaurant is located in Magic Kingdom and features three spectacularly themed rooms in which guests can dine.

The largest — and most fantastic — is the grand ballroom in which Belle and the Beast danced in the final scenes of “Beauty and the Beast.” You’ll also find the West Wing, which is appropriately spooky, and the Castle Gallery, which showcases a large library.

However, the most exciting part of the experience is the ability to meet the Beast during your meal. Depending on when you visit, he may be receiving visitors upon entry. Otherwise, you may spot him walking around the restaurant while you dine.

🤓Nerdy Tip

Belle doesn’t appear at the Be Our Guest Restaurant, but you can plan a stop at Enchanted Tales with Belle if you’d like to meet the princess. Note that this attraction is temporarily unavailable.

Cinderella’s Royal Table is a great way to interact with most of the popular Disney princess characters, but it is also one of the more expensive options. Lunch and dinner start at $67 at the time of writing, plus tax and gratuity, compared to 1900 Park Fare's dinner prices that start at $60.
