This is our favorite place to eat when we come to Xcalak. The shrimp tacos and pork chop tacos are top notch and the portion size is large (not to mention the free appetizer they bring out for you).On top of that, the homemade salsas are to die for. I dream of the salsa tamarindo for weeks after I eat here.We talked to the owner the other night and she said her mom opened the restaurant 25 years ago. With food like this, it's no wonder that it's lasted so long!
Pretty decent restaurant for a ghost town 😊 A fairly cold welcome, probably due to the heat (pun intended). We had the cameron ceviche and the grilled whole fish. Both were good, the accompanying 3 sauces w the fish brought a nice extra. The day after we had the specialties of the house. The Carribean sandwich with breaded fish (apart from the sandwich bread it was nice) and the breaded cameron tacos (👍)
We ate here 3 days in a row. The whole (deep) fried fish was amazing, as was the camarones a la plancha and camarones empanizados. The tacos de camarón and the grilled fish were ok, but a bit bland.Silvia was a super nice person when the service wasn't too busy and she had the time to chat. And the staff was also very nice...and the home made salsas were all to die for! If you order salsa de tamarindo, de habanero y ajo and de habanero y piña you will not be disappointed.

Our go to place in Xcalak! When in town we go there every night. The meats, fish, tortillas and everything is fresh and the flavor is amazing. The sauces they serve are out of this world. The service is even better. Always greeted with a smile at hello, during our visit and at goodbye. Give it a try!
Wonderful food and delightful local cantina. Fabulous fish tacos with all the fixings and a whole fish dinner that was excellent. Bravo!
