your next interventions be?
Identification and treatment of the cause of cardiac arrest, vital signs assessment, treatment
of electrolyte imbalance, establish definitive airway management to maintain ,prevent
hyperoxia and hypoxemia, hemodynamic management through intravenous fluids and
vasoactive drugs, blood glucose assessment and control, seizure precautions, Neurological
checks.
6. What key elements would you include in the handoff report for this patient? Consider the
SBAR (situation, background, assessment, recommendation) format.
Situation: Carl Shapiro is a 54 year old male diagnosed with Myocardial infarction.
Background: patient came into the Emergency department with complaints of chest
pain, diaphoresis, and shortness of breath, he was given aspirin and two doses of
sublingual nitroglycerin, which resolved the chest pain, Iv infusion of Normal saline
at 25ml/hr, ECG was showing sinus rhythm with an anterior myocardial infarction,
and patient went into ventricular fibrillation and was resuscitated successfully.
Patient has a history of hypertension and smokes half a pack a day, was persistent
on leaving before patient went into Ventricular fibrillation
