The Boys is one of the biggest TV shows on Amazon Prime Video. It’s great fun, but extremely graphic. Is it suitable for kids? We need to look atThe Boys age rating.
Anyone who has watched the show will know this isn’t something for children. It’s packed with nudity, violence, extremely foul language, and much more. For most of us, that’s fine, but we’re adults!
Think ofThe Boys a little likeDeadpool. It’s a lot of fun, but not something you’d put on for your children to watch.

Amazon makes it clear that the series isn’t for children. It carries an 18+ (or a TV-MA) rating.
This means it’s, well, for 18 or older. Of course, I’m sure there are some under 18s watching it, and parents will always make a judgment call based on their own children, but don’t get annoyed at the graphic material when it’s clear that is going to be there.
TV-MA is a rating given to the likes ofGame of Thrones,American Horror Story, and the recent Amazon Original,Utopia.
In some other countries it can mean 16+ (France, Germany, Canada, The Netherlands). In other countries, it means 18. The UK is slightly different. Some episodes are rated 18+ and others are for 15+.
The rating is given for the graphic violence, graphic nudity/sexual activity, foul language, and smoking…yes, smoking.The Boys age rating will come just from the use of the C-word throughout the series.
While it’s certainly a fun series, it’s best to wait for your children to get a little older before you introduce it to them.

The Boys Seasons 1 and 2 are on Amazon Prime Video right now. Season 3 has been confirmed.
I'd recommend doing a deeper dive to decide if it's ok for your kids, but I'd advise to watch it with them and even then don't shown it to anyone under the age of 14-16.
Good Boys isn't a movie for kids, perhaps not even high schoolers, but it's for anyone who ever navigated the pitfall-laden labyrinth that's the end of childhood.
And obviously kids shouldn't be watching it. The body count's high and the gore is extreme, with heads being blown up, jaws and faces being ripped off, and lots of blood, it's gruesome. Sex is also a pretty constant thing in the show. One characters backstory is that Homelander raped his wife.
Viewers will see intense violence against women, as well as lots of guns and shooting (including by the teen boy), blood spurts, dead bodies, and gore.
The PG-13 rating comes from many sexual innuendos, insinuations that a teacher sells drugs, Coach Carr getting caught having inappropriate relationships with students, and a lot of salty language.
At 14, your son will be testing their friendships and, most likely, their first real sexual feelings. They will very likely be dealing with peer pressure to try alcohol, tobacco and drugs. It's a busy time in their life: They're absorbed in social media, texting and instant messaging, and probably gaming.
Due to the graphic and intense nature of the movie, it may not be suitable for children under 12 or 13. While some children may be able to handle the content of the movie, it is ultimately up to the parents or guardians to decide whether their child can handle the content.
Films rated 12A are suitable for children aged 12 and over. However, people younger than 12 may see a 12A so long as they are accompanied by an adult. In such circ*mstances, responsibility for allowing a child under 12 to view lies with the accompanying adult. The 12 rating is only found on videos and DVDs.

Parents need to know that this offbeat Will Ferrell/Mark Wahlberg comedy is an irreverent send-up of buddy cop movies that will likely appeal to older tweens but is more age-appropriate for teens.
This show is too intense for kids to watch due to its high violence and drug use. This series is intense with morally ambiguous characters and storylines are meant for mature audiences. Rated TV-MA for strong violent and disturbing content, gory images, pervasive drug content, language and some sexuality/nudity.
