The Most Expensive Days to Visit Disney World in 2023 | the disney food blog (2024)

We’re not going to sugarcoat it: Disney World can be EXPENSIVE!

Disney World is EXPENSIVE!

There’s so much to think about when it comes to budgeting from your hotel room, food, tickets, and even how you’re going to get there — and that’s before you start taking into consideration miscellaneous things like merchandise and souvenirs. We’ve already rounded up some of the cheapest days you can visit Disney World in 2023, and now we’re back to providing a comprehensive list of the most expensive days. Let’s take a look!

Before we get into the specific dates, we want to take a moment to explain how we arrived at these prices. We’re looking exclusively at single-day, 1-park per day (non-park hopper) tickets. That means that a ticket at these prices will get you into one park per day for only one day. If you purchase a multi-day, the price per day decreases. And, of course, if you opt for something like a Park Hopper, your ticket price will increase.

Keep in mind that in December of 2022, ticket price INCREASES and CHANGES went into effect. 1-day, 1-park tickets are now park-specific (meaning the prices vary depending on what park you want to visit on that date). In addition, Park Hoppers got a price change and now that cost varies by date.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

All of the prices below are based on the STARTING prices for tickets displayed in the updated park ticket calendar. Note that the calendar now only shows a starting price (i.e. $134+). Once you select a particular date, you’ll then be able to see what a ticket for each park is priced at on that date. So while a ticket for, say, Animal Kingdom might be $134 on a particular date (which is what Disney might show as the starting price), a ticket for the other parks may be much more expensive. Keep that in mind!

Let’s get into the month-by-month breakdown!

January

January is typically viewed as a less busy time for Disney World. The holiday season has died down, kids are back in school, and the parks are a little emptier.

Tree of Life

However, it’s important to remember that the beginning of the month is still winter break for lots of people, and the first day of the month is a holiday, too! That’s why January 1st, New Year’s Day, is one of the most expensive days to head to Disney World in January, with tickets starting at $159. Tickets on January 2nd also start at $159.

Here’s a look at the park-by-park ticket price breakdown for January 1st.

Note how tickets start at $159 but some parks are much more expensive. Magic Kingdom, for example, is priced at $184 per ticket.

February

February is also considered to be a slower month in Disney World, but that doesn’t mean some dates aren’t expensive.

EPCOT

February 20th and 25th are the most expensive dates — with both having tickets starting at $159.

But exact pricing for the parks depends on which of these dates you go on. For example, Magic Kingdom is priced at $179 and Hollywood Studios is priced at $174 on February 20th…

…but those prices shift to $174 (Magic Kingdom) and $169 (Hollywood Studios) on the 25th.

February 20th is President’s Day, so that explains the high pricing. February 25th falls during the runDisney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, which can be another busy period.

March

In March, prices are high thanks to the start of spring break in many parts of the country.

Tower of Terror

The highest starting ticket price in March is $154 on March 17th, 18th, 19th, and 28th.Remember that the prices for each of the parks will differ depending on what date you go. So while all of these dates “start” at $154, the price for a ticket to Magic Kingdom, for example, may vary between them.

Prices do see a slight dip in the final few days of March.

April

April sees the same phenomenon as March: spring break is still going strong and the parks are crowded, meaning that ticket prices are still high.
