My boyfriends and i moved out of my grandparents home and to the Van Nuys, Sherman Oaks around April 2022. It is such a lively and fun area with easy access to both the 101 and 405 freeways! There are also so many options for going out for drinks, doing a daytime activity, or even just going out to eat somewhere special!! It’s 20 minutes from Hollywood with little to no traffic which makes weekends so much more fun! My only complaint would be the price or rent in comparison to the quality of life. Crime is not high but definitely not low.

My general experience while living within Van Nuys is that typically it is a pretty peaceful neighborhood area despite in my case living on main road. The activity there is minimal to none, and the neighbors are normally friendly and don't cause issues with loud noises or huge parties. Frankly, I believe the commute to places such as the grocery store and whatnot make living there a bit better due to how close everything is and not needing to waste extra gas just to get some milk.

Growing up in Van Nuys i had the opportunity to see a diverse community of people who all moved into this city to make a change in their lives and prosper. I myself had the opportunity have had the chance to help other such as the homeless gain resources and my neighbors carry their bags into their homes. I love the classic feeling of old school Los Angeles and the feeling of sunsets in the San Fernando Valley. Something about this city feels different from the rest. Feels like home. I would only change the ay people view us since many don't understand our roots and why we love it here.
