MAX VERSTAPPEN has revealed that his sister was also a racing driver and had the "same amount of talent" he had as a child.
Victoria-Jane is the two-time world champion's younger sister and he thinks she may have had the ability to become the first ever female Formula One star.
Verstappen, 25, is two years older than his sibling and both used to race as children.
Driving runs in the family with their father Jos a former F1 driver, who used to represent the likes of Benetton, Arrows and Minardi.
He used to take his two kids to the karting track but despite both's talent, Victoria was never as motivated as her brother.
Verstappen told RaceFans: "There were a few instances where my dad would spend two days preparing everything like he would do with me, making sure everything was perfect for her to drive.
"Then she would drive for like 20 laps, and then she’s like ‘That’s it for me for today’. And then my dad would get quite annoyed.
"I think she had a lot of potential. I think my sister probably had the same amount of talent as I had when I was little, but she just didn’t want it enough.
"She liked it but not enough to fight for it, be fit, be ready. That’s fine, as long as you realise that.
"My dad was mainly focused on me. I was 100 per cent sure that my dad would have gone all the way for her as well.
“I think my sister probably had the same amount of talent as I had when I was little, but she just didn't want it enough. She liked it but not enough to, like, fight for it, be fit, be ready. That's fine, as long as you realise that. “My dad was, anyway, mainly focussed on me.
In 2022, Verstappen told ESPN that his father once left him alone at a petrol station after he failed to win a karting race and that his mother had to come and pick him up. He recalled: "I stayed in the lead at the start but then I got passed.
"I get on really well with Lando because he is just himself and normal,” said Verstappen. “He is my best friend on the grid. "He loves what he is doing.
His younger sister, Victoria, lived with their mother. Verstappen has three younger half-siblings from his father: a sister, Blue Jaye, from Jos's second marriage, and a brother and sister, Jason Jaxx and Mila Faye, from Jos's current marriage.
Max Verstappen, the reigning F1 champion, secured a jaw-dropping $110 million following his dominant performance in the 2023 season, winning an astounding 86% of the races. With bonuses and endorsem*nts factored in, Verstappen's net worth soared to approximately $165.5 million.
Does Max Verstappen have children? Max has no biological children, but he does have a close relationship with Kelly's daughter Penelope. Kelly shares the four-year-old with her ex-partner, Russian driver Daniil Kvyat – who Max replaced at Red Bull in 2016 shortly after the season began.
In conclusion, considering Max Verstappen's extroverted nature, strong sensing abilities, logical decision-making, and adaptable approach, it is feasible to categorize him as an ESTP personality type.
F1 salaries in the 1990s, the era in which his father drove, were nowhere near as handsome as they are today. Coupled with the limited success Jos achieved in the sport, the Verstappens were neither the most wealthy nor the most financially challenged.
Max Verstappen's childhood scars might be unhealable
In an interview earlier this year, Jos opened up about how he molded Max to be the way he is. He said, “There are people who say I'm a bad father because I abused my child.
After that, the Dutch driver's father got remarried and had one child with his next wife. And that brings us to Max's half-sister, Blue Jaye, who was born in 2014, to Jos and his second wife Kelly van der Waal.
Verstappen has coached his son Max from an early age in karting, through to Max's successes as an F1 driver becoming the 2021, 2022 and 2023 Formula One Drivers' Champion. Jos has also served as a manager for Max.
It wasn't until 2016 that the now couple first met, sharing a dinner with Piquet's older brother, Nelson Jr. Despite their similarities, the two didn't start dating following their initial meeting, and it was actually another four years before their love story began.
Jos Verstappen, Max Verstappen's father, was a strict and uncompromising mentor who believed in pushing his son to the limits to ensure his success. He believed that such an upbringing was necessary to thrive in the competitive world of motorsport, a sentiment echoed by others in the industry.
