Walt Disney World’s newest form of transportation is the Disney Skyliner, a gondola connecting EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios with several Disney Resorts. We’re taking YOU up “in the skies” here on this page so you can familiarize yourself with all of the ins-and-outs of this free Disney transportation system!
Disney Skyliner
Disney World Skyliner Stations
Skyliner stations are found at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort (which also serves as the Skyliner hub), EPCOT’s International Gateway, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Pop Century and Art of Animation Resorts, and Disney’s Riviera Resort.

There is also a turn station located near Disney’s BoardWalk Inn on the line between Riviera Resort and EPCOT. The turn station is simply a point on the line where the route changes direction, but here riders can catch a glimpse of the mechanics that make Skyliner go!

Caribbean Beach Resort
The Caribbean Beach Resort station serves as the main hub for the system.
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
All three Skyliner lines come and go from the Caribbean Beach Skyliner station, and any transfers that happen from line-to-line occur at this station.

Guests are able to travel directly to and from Disney’s Art of Animation and Pop Century Resorts, Disney’s Riviera Resort continuing to or from EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

It’s a large, open space that also incorporates restrooms and it’s own Joffrey’s Coffee and Tea stand!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the station mimics the vintage look and feel of the park entrance.

The addition of the Skyliner station also delivered more security bag checks, an updated tram drop-off and pickup area, and restrooms that are easily accessible for those planning to use the Skyliner to the park’s entrance area.

Guests can find Skyliner route information as they approach the station, learning that the gondolas at Hollywood Studios carry guests directly to Caribbean Beach Resort where they may transfer, as needed, to other destinations.
EPCOT
EPCOT’s Skyliner station is located at the park’s International Gateway (between the France and United Kingdom pavilion in World Showcase) and captures the beauty of the pavilions located near this part of the park.

Specifically, the station artistically complements the nearby France pavilion.

Guests will find that the gondolas departing from the EPCOT Skyliner station carry guests directly to Disney’s Rivera Resort and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. From Caribbean Beach, guests may transfer as needed.

Disney’s Riviera Resort
Riviera Resort’s Skyliner station reflects the grandeur of this Disney Vacation Club Resort.

Guests arriving at and entering the Resort by way of the Skyliner station will enjoy the sight of some truly stunning mosaic murals.

Meanwhile, guests departing from the Riviera Resort station can go directly to EPCOT or Caribbean Beach Resort. From Caribbean Beach, they may transfer as needed to other destinations.

Disney’s Art of Animation and Pop Century Resorts share the same Skyliner station.

It is located on Generation Gap Bridge over Hourglass Lakeand features a colorful design to echo the vibrantly-themed Resorts.

This line passes over Hourglass Lake for a uniquely pretty trip, and a rescue barge has been assigned in case of emergencies.
Hello down there!
From the Art of Animation and Pop Century Resorts station, guests are able to travel directly to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and transfer as needed.
Disney Skyliner Gondola Design
Disney Skyliner gondolas carry 6-10 passengers (depending on whether or not strollers, wheelchairs, or ECVs are part of the group) and are fitted with wooden benches facing each other from either side.
Riders must remain seated throughout the flight.

Skyliners feature reflective windows and cross-ventilation to maintain a comfortable temperature in the tropical climate of central Florida.

There are also Skyliners that do not have character window wraps, but these are also a joy to ride in, because you can better see from them!

Disney Skyliner and Inclement Weather
Be aware that if there are thunderstorms in the area, the Skyliner is required to close for the safety of the riders. If that happens, Disney will typically offer buses that run to the usual Skyliner destinations instead.
The Skyliner closes in bad weather
The Skyliner may also close if there’s excessive wind. Because the gondolas are attached to the cords by one hanging arm, they tend to swing if it’s particularly windy, so Disney will wait until the wind dies down to reopen.
At Disney World, safety takes first priority.
