Are you ready for a new season of Warzone 2? Complete with a brand-new map, some big changes to the landscape of Al Mazrah, new vehicles and more, Season 4 has a lot of promise.

Warzone 2 Season 4 Release Date

Season 4 will go live in Warzone 2 on June 14, 2023 at 9 AM PT.

Warzone 2 Season 4 New Map: Vondel

Drop hot into Vondel, a new map set to host DMZ, Resurgence, and the upcoming Lockdown Limited-Time Mode in Warzone 2 Season 4.

Vondel is a medium-sized map with a topographical mix of city streets, canals, and large structures such as a city hall, soccer stadium, and even an abandoned zoo! With the debut of some new amphibious vehicles this season, Vondel is the perfect map to experiment with driving from land into watery terrains.

Warzone 2 Season 4 New Limited Time Mode: Lockdown

Starting June 28, 2023 you can expect to find a new playlist available for the Vondel map... Lockdown.

In this limited-time mode, multiple Quad teams must capture and hold zones around the map. With Custom Loadouts enabled, there is a lot of room to mess around and experiment.

Warzone 2 Season 4 Resurgence Updates

Resurgence will be coming to the new Vondel map in Warzone 2 Season 4, with the addition of two new features to help the transition: Dynamic Resurgence Timers and the Vengeance Icon.

Warzone 2 Resurgence Timers

This new feature automatically adjusts a squad's timers should one or more squad members disconnect mid-match. The Resurgence Timer will also readjust should any squad members reconnect during the same match, reverting back to a "normal" countdown.

Warzone 2 Vengeance Icon

Starting in Season 4, all Resurgence matches will include a new mechanic called Vengeance. This mechanic will place a Vengeance Icon onto an enemy opponent that eliminated your squad member. This Vengeance Icon will only last as long as the Resurgence Timer was for your downed teammate.

The Vengeance Icon only indicates the direction of the enemy combatant, not their exact location.

Warzone 2 Season 4 DMZ Updates

Many new features will be introduced to the DMZ game mode in Season 4, including a new menu system, a new faction, dynamic fog, the debut of the Tactical Amphibious Vehicle and more.

Warzone 2 Season 4 New Menu System: Forward Operating Base

The menu system for DMZ is getting an overhaul in Season 4. Welcome to the Forward Operating Base, otherwise known as the FOB. In this menu, you can complete objectives to earn upgrades that can be applied to your DMZ gameplay. Unlock the following upgrades in the new FOB menu:

• Stash:
  • Wallet and Key Stash size increases.
• Weapons Locker:
  • Insured and contraband armaments and upgrades.
• Bounty Board:
  • For Exfil, Bartering recipes, and Buy Station discounts.
• Communications Station:
  • Allowing Urgent Mission access.

All Operator Upgrades within the Forward Operating Base are passive, don’t need to be equipped, and allow for efficient progress across all aspects of DMZ.

Unlock a new type of Faction Mission called "Urgent Missions" in DMZ to earn Faction Reputation and unlock more Story Missions. You can view your available Urgent Missions in the FOB menu as well.

Warzone 2 Season 4 New Faction: Phalanx

A new faction will debut in Warzone 2 DMZ called Phalanx. This mysterious Phalanx will be revealed in more detail on June 9, 2023.

Warzone 2 Season 4 New Dynamic Fog

Fog might be the last thing you think about when playing a match of DMZ, but the introduction of dynamic fog to Warzone 2 will change your gameplay in a massive way. You can expect to find plenty of fog on the canal-level streets of Vondel.

Not only will the varying levels of fog decrease your visibility to an extent, this new fog with have a density that can potentially be impacted by other factors in the environment, such as gunfire or explosions.

Warzone 2 Season 4 New Vehicle: Tactical Amphibious Vehicle

Water vehicles have been a big component of Warzone 2, but you know what is better than a vehicle that can transport you over water? A vehicle that will carry you over both water and land.

Drive the new Tactical Amphibious Vehicle (TAV for short) over shallow water and streets, switching seamlessly between the two terrains.

Warzone 2 Season 4 Al Mazrah Sandstorm

You can expect Al Mazrah to look a bit different in Season 4. The massive sandstorm has subsided, leaving the downtown streets and topography notably changed. Look out the destruction to buildings in Al Mazrah City and all the new sand dunes that could provide potential cover.

Warzone 2 Season 4 New Event: Assault on Vondel

We know you only just discovered Vondel, but it's time to hit the ground running... Vondel is under attack. In the Assault on Vondel Event, fight back against new Operator Nikto and his company of mercenaries to reclaim Vondel.

The Assault on Vondel Event will launch on June 14, 2023 and end on July 7, 2023.

Complete challenges, earn medals, and unlock rewards. As the Warzone 2 community hits community medal goals, new features will be unlocked during the Assault on Vondel event for all Operators, including:

• Taxi Boats & Tramways
  • Planned to be deployed after Stage I of the Assault on Vondel is completed, these auto-piloted boats move around the canals on set routes, with Operators also able to “speed them up” should their leisurely pace be too slow for active firefights.
• Reinforcement Flare Field Upgrade
  • After being purchased at a Buy Station or found via scavenging, the Reinforcement Flare can be placed to signal the return of a random squadmate. This is a little like a “Buy Station Redeployment” but without the ability to choose who gets revived.
• Favorite Supply Box
  • A rare container that, when opened, unlocks your favorite weaponry and deposits it out for you to quickly gather and utilize.
• Tonfa melee weapon
  • Dual-wielded, the Tonfa is a defensive weapon first and a powerful tool for dealing devastating strikes to your opponents. Adds a new Finishing Move.

Warzone 2 Season 4 New Public Event: High Stakes

To kick off the debut of the Vondel map, you can jump right into the newest public event in Season 4, "High Stakes".

In this public event, at the start of every match of Battle Royale and Resurgence, you can spot several Loadout-sized crates dropping from the sky. Capture the creates to gain Double Weapon XP and Double Player XP for the entire duration of the match.

These crate Double Weapon/Player XP bonuses will stack with Double XP Tokens and XP Events.
