The dress code at Disney is extremely strict. Disney is well known for its strict dress code (both for employees and for people visiting Disney parks). The company has an extremely detailed outline of employee dress code, depending on position, gender, and amount of interaction with park guests.
For employees in costume, this means that they must wear their costume accurately for the entire time they are working. This includes any masks, headdresses, wigs, and all clothing.
Additionally, they must stay "in character" whenever they are in a public section of the park. They may not use any personal item, such as cell phones, while in character and must maintain perfect posture.
This same rule applies to other public-facing roles in the park. While non-costumed members do not need to apply such rigor to maintaining a character role, they must always be cheerful and helpful. Additionally, they should also maintain excellent personal hygiene at all times.
Disney has strict rules regarding acceptable dress that disallows most tattoos, piercings, and unusual hair colors and styles. Additionally, the company requires employees to wear their nametags at all times.
