Go on a journey, enter a few leagues, some contests here and there, stop an evil madman who's sole purpose in life is to compain about being last in baseball...And that's all on my mind =)

I'd get the Sinnoh starters and take part in contests! I'd get my parents or my sister to take me to contests though. I will never understand how Pokemon can withstand thunderbolts, being hit with fire, etc.

Sorry, but I don't get it :-( What do you mean by that? Just wondering ;-)

In a sense, Articuno (the Pokémon) is actually talking, saying that Pokémon (like Articuno) are here, you just have to find them. Hence the avatar and the screen name.
 That all just cracked me up.
As for the question, it seems to be being answered two different ways: What would you do if YOU existed in the Pokemon world (ie the whole going on journeys etc) and What would you do if Pokemon existed in OUR world (so, like having the dog/cat Pokemon as domestic animals)
So, I dunno...it's more fun to imagine yourself existing in that world...
Either way it'd be fun to go compete in Leagues with real Pokemon in real time, rather than the whole turn based/4 move sprite battling..

If Pokemon were real, I would definitely be a Pokemon trainer. I'd probably be a lot like Ash in that I wouldn't capture every Pokemon, just ones that I would use in battle. Which, in turn, is like my game counterpart. I only have about 42 Pokemon in my Pokedex for Emerald, and I'm at Mossdeep City.
This topic actually reminded me of something my sister told me back when Pokemon was a fad. There was a footprint in the mud, and my sister tried to convince me that it was a Hitmonchan's. Now, I'm a gullible person, by I'm not that gullible.

Why have a canary when you can have a mischievous Murkrow to play tricks on your "Friends"?

Hmmm... as I'm sure people have probably mentioned, there are many ways to go about this.
If we were and always had been in the Pokemon world as opposed to our world, I suppose I'd have a *fairly harmless* Pokemon(E.g.; As much as I love Gengar, I would NOT want one IRL. Damn thing would probably kill me and play with my corpse. X_x; ) as pet, and maybe do some recreational battling or something along those lines. 'Cause y'know, in that case it'd be 'normal'.
Now, if Pokemon suddenly appeared in our world, well...
Yeah, I would probably never go outside ever again. There's just something that's completely 'WTF'-worthy and downright piss-your-pants frightening about going outside to get groceries only to have a giant pigeon fling a tornado at you and tear your car in half. D:

I'd stay the hell away from the various creatures with highly potent magic powers that can easily blow things up, set things on fire, electricute things, and destroy stuff in general.
Then again, I suppose society would have adapted so that these magic beasts are't that disruptive. And most of them don't attack stuff for the hell of it anyway...

Me and my best friend would travel like Ash does and get gym badges and eventually become gym leaders.
Either that or become a pokemon breeder.

I'd get myself a pikachu and roam the world in search of friends and adventures! Yay!
Either that, or make a business selling them on Ebay xD

I'd be a pokémon reseacher and gym leader. I'd study Psychic types using my varied team to help me travel to new places. I'd try to discover new pokémon and catch them. then I'd study them and then put the into my Psychic Dex. I'd then use them to battle with in my local gym.

I had a dream about this once. I dreamt I joined Team Rocket and had a lot random jokes and puns for no reason and stole a lot of Pokemon.
Second dream, I wake up late (like I do in real life) for my starter pokemon. I don't remember what I got, though I do remember how odd it was to see what Pokemon would look like in real life.

I'd be majoring in English and minoring in Rearranging Faces through the Vector of Collectabeasts. Few could withstand the might of a dude who is both knowledgable in literature and in command of a small army of misanthropic yet oddly adorable mutants.
