Does Disney still do meet and greets?
Disney has announced that
Character meets are now back at Disney World, the way we all know and love! That's right, real character meet and greets have returned with hugs and autographs for the guests! In fact, normal character meets came back to the Disney World theme parks on April 18, 2022, and have been going strong ever since.
Other than that, if you're able to join a queue for a visit most characters will happily provide an autograph along with a high five, hugs, and posing for photos. You can purchase an autograph at many shops around the parks, as well as larger pens that make signing a little easier on some of our friends.
You will be happy to hEAR that Disney characters are not restricted to signing only the autograph books sold at the theme parks and Disney Springs. Characters are actually able to sign most items, with a few restrictions.
Events and Parties
Characters may be available during special ticketed events at the park. For example, certain characters greet during Magic Kingdom After Hours and Early Morning Magic at Magic Kingdom. The major two events for meeting characters are the parties.
I'm happy to say that you see and hug characters again! You can also have your photo taken by a Disney PhotoPass photographer, depending on the location, and you can also get an autograph! The best way to meet and greet your favorite characters is to look for their locations in the Disneyland Mobile App.
Do you already know what it is? Guests can officially hug Mickey Mouse again! Disney World is bringing back “normal” character meet-and-greets in a phased return, and we're already seeing a few characters back to their traditional meet-and-greets in the parks!
Meet Mickey at Town Square Theater | Walt Disney World Resort.
Meet Tinker Bell throughout the day at the Town Square Theater on Main Street, to your right as you enter the park.
You can also inquire at the concierge at your resort, City Hall in the Magic Kingdom or Guest Relations in the other parks for the most up-to-date character locations. Cast members sometimes have a special phone number to call for character locations.
Can you get autographs from characters at Disney?
Guests of all ages – both young and old – really get a kick out of snagging autographs from the characters at Walt Disney World. Character autographs are also one of the least expensive souvenirs you can bring back home with you.
Most characters at the character dining locations do, in fact, sign autographs. This is an easy and fun way to collect several great autographs to fill those autograph books up with! And just as we've stated above, you don't have to wait in line for the autographs.
Here is a breakdown of the new pricing details: Disney Character Hugs are $10 each. Autographs are $5 per autograph (limit 2) Photographs are $2 each and you must provide your own device (does not include photo pass)
These are very popular experiences and generally become fully booked far in advance. Make reservations if you want to have a character meal. Not surprisingly, character meals cost money. The greeting is included with the cost of your meal, but you'll have to pay for the meal to meet a character in this situation.
World Showcase
There are characters that typically appear on a regular basis in their country, but sometimes rare characters also make an appearance. You can also try checking the American Adventure Pavilion for surprise character visits, which do happen occasionally.
This meet and greet experience is available daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and is eligible for Genie+. Smile and pose with some of your favorite Disney Junior pals, Vampirina, Doc McStuffins, and Fancy Nancy! They can't wait to meet you.
All Guests may dress as their favorite character, but may not pose for pictures or sign autographs for other Guests. Costumes must be family-friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive, objectionable or violent. Costumes may not contain any weapons that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.
Disney characters do walk the parks but with escorts to areas where they will have their picture taken with guests. They will not stop and allow pictures to be taken enroute to these areas.
If you decide you do want a picture a PhotoPass Cast Member takes, there is a fee to obtain the picture.
All Disney theme park guests are required to wear shirts and shoes at all times.
Does Disney do a kiss goodnight?
Too few Walt Disney World fans know about the Kiss Goodnight at Magic Kingdom. If you just thought, “what's that?” you're not alone. The Kiss Goodnight is a little over 2-minutes long, and it is WDW's way of saying “goodbye” (or “go home!” depending upon your perspective) to guests at the end of a long day in the park.
You should also never ever hit, push, or try to harm any Disney character. Even the villains deserve better, so be sure your kids know the rules. Violation of this rule can get you kicked out of the parks or even banned. No one wants that, so be kind to the characters, whether good or evil.
Consistency is something Disney strives to maintain in their Park experiences, and having not just one character but only one version of Mickey able to vocally and verbally communicate didn't fit that mold.
As you exit the Journey Into Imagination with Figment ride at Epcot, look to your left at the ImageWorks sign. There is a sideways hidden Mickey behind and between the “I” and the “M” on the sign.
It's rumored that Tink gets paid around $500 per flight across the Magic Kingdom's sky, which isn't bad for 30 seconds of work, if you ask us.
A Moana meet and greet is now available at Disney's Animal Kingdom! The popular character is now greeting guests at select times throughout the day at Discovery Island.
Tinker Bell does still fly during the Happily Ever After nighttime show! This show features fabulous fireworks and wonderful projections on Cinderella Castle, and plays nearly every night at Magic Kingdom.
To answer your question, autographs have, along with hugs, also returned to the character meet and greets, so make sure to have your autograph book ready! While some character experiences have yet to return, the currently available ones are not distanced and do allow autographs.
Autograph books can be purchased at retail locations in the theme parks, Disney Springs, and even Resort hotels. They range in price from $9.99 to $19.99. To browse available options prior to your vacation, I recommend downloading the Shop Disney Parks mobile app.
Do Jack and Sally sign autographs. Jack and Sally are too busy entertaining guests to sign autographs BUT they do hand out pre-signed cards to guests after you meet them. What is this?
Can you take pictures with characters at Disney World?
To answer your question, you can meet and take photos with select characters. Character experiences are located throughout the parks, and I am sure that you will be able to connect with some of your favorites at some point. I hope this help.

Featuring colorful character art, a retractable pen, and photo pockets, this book will be a treasured keepsake for years to come. Mickey and friends will sign off on your favorite Disney memories in this World of Disney autograph book.
The condition of the autograph, as well as what the autograph is written on, are among the factors that determine an autograph's value. However, the most important factor is who the autograph belongs to, and whether it is in high demand. Whether or not the autograph is rare also plays a role in its value.
The prices are set by the celebrities, and 100% of that money goes directly to the celebrity guest. So if you're a huge fan of someone, and want to thank them directly for the hours of entertainment they have provided you, there's no more direct way than paying them for an in-person autograph.
