Candy Dulfer (born 19 September 1969) is a Dutch jazz and pop saxophonist. She is the daughter of jazz saxophonist Hans Dulfer. She began playing at age six and founded her band Funky Stuff when she was fourteen.
Candy Dulfer plays a Amsterdam Winds alto saxophone with Heidinga neck. She plays a custom mouthpiece by her own design, similar to Lebayle and Dukoff, it is not for sale yet. She uses Vandoren Jazz reeds 2.5.

Candy has been fortunate to work - both in the studio and on stage - with some of the biggest names in music, including Van Morrison, Maceo Parker, Sheila E., Mavis Staples, Lionel Richie, Beyoncé, Pink Floyd, Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, and many others.
In my interview with Candy I had the chance to discuss her fruitful career as a bandleader and her legendary stints playing alongside Prince, Maceo Parker, Van Morrison and more.
In April 2021, Franti lost his biological father, with whom he'd reconnected as a young adult, to COVID. "We had to have a Zoom funeral," Franti, who was adopted as a child, says quietly. "I didn't know my father growing up. I didn't meet him until I was 22 years old."

In 2003, Duffy was invited to appear on Wawffactor, a Welsh TV talent show similar to Pop Idol. She was expected to win, but ended up coming second to winner Lisa Pedrick.
Born Aimee Anne Duffy in June 1984, the 37-year-old Welsh singer made her breakthrough in 2007 with her debut album, Rockferry. The record was a huge success and saw her bag three Brits and a Grammy Award - selling seven million copies worldwide.
“Hendrix is very good. Fact,” Prince told MTV, “There will never be another one like him, and it would be a pity to try. I strive for originality in my work, and hopefully, it'll be perceived that way.”
It may have seemed a trivial hurdle to Prince; however, for Joni Mitchell, the leap was too big, and she shelved ay chances of working on the song. It wouldn't stop their admiration for one another, however.
So they tape that one. But the whole time they're in rehearsals, Prince never turned his guitar on, and never turned his vocal mic on, so he knew what everybody else was doing at all times. Hayes: That's why they shoot it at the dress rehearsal.
Kirk insisted that he was only trying to emulate the sounds he heard in his head. Even while playing two or three saxophones at once, the music was intricate, powerful jazz with a strong feel for the blues. The live album Bright Moments (1973) is an example of one of his shows.
And it sounds so mighty. The late jazz legend Rahsaan Roland Kirk could play three saxophones at once and make it not sound dreadful.

"Spring is Here" is a 1938 popular song composed by Richard Rodgers, with lyrics by Lorenz Hart for the musical I Married an Angel (1938), where it was introduced by Dennis King and Vivienne Segal.
Sheila E. joined Prince's backing band as their romance grew, and as she recalled in a 2016 Billboard interview, they became briefly engaged after Prince proposed in 1987. However, by the 1988-89 Lovesexy Tour their relationship fractured, and Sheila E. subsequently left Prince and the band once it came to a close.
“We just grew apart,” she said. “I loved everything that we did together but [we were] at a place [where] it didn't feel right to either of us.” Another reason was that she knew he'd have other relationships. “I guess there are some women that don't care if there's the other woman,” she reflected.

As Prince grew older, his affection for Joni Mitchell only grew stronger. In a 1985 interview with Rolling Stone, for example, the glam star declared her 1975 album, The Hissing of Summer Lawns, the last album he'd listened to that he'd “loved the whole way through”.

Prince retired his Santana medley from the setlist in 2011 — the same year he shared a stage with Santana — but his fondness for the music remained.
