According to Cast Members at the attraction Tower of Terror is now undergoing refurbishment on the elevator shafts that remained open during the previous refurbishment. As a refresher, Tower of Terror was operating at half capacity from February 6, 2022 through June 25, 2022.

Tower of Terror has had a string of difficulties over the past year or so. Back in November 2021, Tower of Terror was unexpectedly cut open for maintenance issues. Then, starting in February 2022, Disney took one elevator shaft out of service for lengthy maintenance.
Disney will replace its Tower of Terror ride with an attraction for Marvel's “Guardians of the Galaxy” at California Adventure, in Anaheim, Calif. The Tower of Terror was one of the first rides to debut at California Adventure when the park opened in 2004.

Disney World's Splash Mountain has officially closed, and some are trying to profit from its last day. The attraction at the Orlando, Florida, theme park shut down on Monday as it prepares to relaunch as Tiana's Bayou Adventure in 2024.
What is this? Two major factors are contributing to those lines: first, guests who purchased Lightning Lane are favored over the stand-by queue, making the stand-by wait times soar even higher. Second, Tower of Terror has a low load capacity, meaning not a lot of guests can ride at one time.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror Possible Delays
On average, there are 47 minutes worth of delays per day. A delay is considered as any time the attraction does not report wait time data for 10 minutes or more.
It is a very popular attraction, with average standby wait times between 40-90 minutes. Height requirement for this attraction is 40 inches (102 cm).
The Orlando Sentinel listed several incidents experienced in relation to the Tower of Terror. Several riders complained of neck and back injuries in 1998 after bolts on the ride broke and cables snapped, sending an elevator car plunging one floor down before an emergency brake halted the fall.
