Difference Between Wildwood Crest and North Wildwood??

Hi- Both are family freindly- Wildwood Crest is just South of Wildwood & the Boardwalk, N. Wildwood is north. Both are actually very similar. The Crest is a closer drive to Cape May, but you're only talking about a couple of miles difference.

Wildwood, NJ Events, and Activities Galore

Opening day for the 2022 season is May 20th when “Watch The Tram Car Please!” will be heard from 11 am to 11 pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until 7-day operation begins in mid-June. The Tram Car is the best way to travel the 2 mile Wildwoods Boardwalk and experience everything it as to offer!

We are open every day, 10am - 3:30pm! This includes rainy days like today! We only close during dangerous weather conditions, like local lightning strikes or high winds.

Is Wildwood trashy?

The CITY of Wildwood is not as nice and yes, does have some trashy places and clientele. Yes, the boardwalk does attract some TRASH, but less so on the North end and south end (Crest). As another poster stated, you have to "do your homework" and thoroughly research where you are going to stay.

Wildwood Crest, NJ

Wildwood Crest is the southern-most section of the Wildwoods (besides Diamond Beach). It is a quieter, family-friendly part of town, filled with motels that are set back-to-back on each block to allow for wide-open views of the ocean.

There can be coolers on the beach, but no beer or alcohol. Alcohol is not permitted on the beach according to law.

Quite simply the physical Wildwood Boardwalk does not close for the season. It is open year-round to walk, run, bike, or hopscotch (if that's your thing). One of our favorite things to do is to walk the boardwalk during the winter snow, it is magical.

I think wildwood is extremely safe. I walk around at 3 am after a night at the bar. As long as your kids use common sense (not waving around money or picking a fight) they should be just fine. Yes, I consider Wildwood to be very safe, especially if staying on the boardwalk.

Cape May's Diamond Beach is the cleanest beach in New Jersey, though Sea Girt and President's Beach are close contenders.

you just have to cross the street and you at the beginning of the beach, but it is about 4 blocks to get to the ocean. The walk to the boardwalk is 4 blocks but many more blocks to the shops and rides so if you don't drive your car up the island to a parking lot I would suggest the Tram-car. over a year ago.

For Free Parking in Wildwood, NJ, Stay Southwest of 25th and New Jersey Avenues. From Rio Grande Avenue to 25th Avenue, free parking is best as it is a short walk to the boardwalk, the Convention Center, and Morey's Piers.
