Sakurai confessed that during creation he had always envisioned Kirby as being pink with blush on the sides of his pudgy face. Nintendo director Shigeru Miyamoto envisioned Kirby as yellow but eventually, Sakurai won them all over and everyone's beloved pink blob was born.
Kirby does not appear to have a skeleton (see image to the right) or teeth (outside of the manga series, and certain sprites in 2D games). He does, however, have a tongue, as evidenced by more recent games when he inhales.

What happens if Kirby eats Kirby?
When Kirby inhales and swallows another Kirby, he will gain no Copy Ability and only damage will be dealt unless the Kirby being swallowed has a Copy Ability itself, in which case Kirby will steal it. Kirby can discard his Copy Ability by Taunting, and has a chance of losing it upon taking damage.
Ribbon is a character in the Kirby series, debuting as an ally in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. She is a fairy from Ripple Star and is Kirby's presumed love interest.

Is Kirby the only Kirby?
Trivia. Given that the only games in which the Kirbys play a role in the story, outside of Keeby and possibly Meta Knight, portray them as clones of the original Kirby in some fashion, it is unknown if Kirby's species is a naturally occurring race.
A higher K-score indicates a greater likelihood that Kirby should indeed be eating that. A lower one, where the difficulty and cost far outweigh the ability score, means Kirby might want to take a long, hard look at what he's about to eat, and maybe go with the cauliflower rice instead.
John Kirby, the ex-Nintendo lawyer the Kirby character was named after, has died aged 79.
Japanese sources do not confirm Kirby's gender, so he is referred to with gender neutral pronouns for a broader, more universal appeal in the Japanese market, along with most other Kirby characters. If Big Daddy Sakurai says genderless, then its genderless.
Or maybe Kirby is strawberry flavored. Strawberry is near the top of the candy-flavor charts without a doubt. There is no better Starburst than a pink Starburst, and maybe Kirby could taste even better than that. Kirby Kandy could become the new sensation, and become the next great candy.
