Who is Freddie to Cruz on Chicago Fire?
Freddie Clemente was a gangbanger formally of the Insane Kings and a homeboy to Leon Cruz. He was looking to get out of the gang life and tried to get a job at Firehouse 51, seeking help from Joe, but Interim Battalion Chief Dallas Patterson didn't want him hanging around the firehouse.
Cruz offers to go on the aerial ladder to save Freddie. Freddie doesn't believe Cruz will be able to hold him up; and even thinks Cruz would rather see him die because of what he did. Cruz doesn't give up, Freddie grabs hold and the team is successful in their rescue.
Season 8. Cruz married Chloe Allen in Light Things Up with Severide as his best man. The wedding is held in the "Firefighters' church" and it is attended by the whole firehouse.
Chloe Allen-Cruz is Joe Cruz's wife. They met during a building fire and started dating soon after (Going To War). She was involved in a car accident where she got severely injured (Always A Catch), from which she recovered.

She tells him she's happy in Chicago, but he tells her she isn't. She breaks up with him again after shaming him for his control issues and he leaves. Cruz then asks her out and she rejects him.
Why did Cruz and Brett break up on Chicago Fire?
After catching up with Kyle, Brett realized how important timing is and comes to the decision that the stars just didn't align for her and Casey at this time. In the closing moments of the season 11 premiere, Brett calls Casey and breaks up with him, bringing an end to their relationship — at least for the time being.

Why did Shay leave Chicago Fire after season 3? The reason Shay left Chicago Fire was due to the writers' decision to kill the character off of the show. That's right, it was a decision made by the writing team and was not connected to Lauren German's requesting an exit storyline from the show.
During an interview with TV Insider, Haas revealed that it was his idea to kill off the character in such shocking fashion. He felt it would be an antidote to the close calls that previous characters had survived on the show, and would serve as a reminder of how dangerous the firefighter job really is.

The future of his character, explored. Firehouse 51 legend and all-around loving man Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) caused quite the upset for Chicago Fire fans in October 2021 when he left the show.
After arriving to court to testify against the drug dealer who put him in the hospital, Severide is ambushed by one of said drug dealer's lackeys. A tussle ensued that led to Severide kicking the lackey and pushing him through a window. He was killed instantly.
Though he ultimately pulls through and has serious psychological repercussions he must wrestle with following his near-death experience, season four ends with Hermann expressing his forgiveness of Freddie before a judge sentences Freddie to jail.
Who hired Serena Chicago Fire?
Serena Holmes was Wallace and Donna Boden's next door neighbor. She was hired by Roger Maddox to frame Boden for assault in order to deface him for an upcoming trial.
Both trucks ran the red light. Even though Cruz was cleared in the crash, both drivers were negligent.
Eaten up by his guilt over Flaco's death in the fire, Cruz goes to Casey to confess. While Shay recovers from a head injury sustained in the ambulance crash, Severide asks Dawson for her help in dealing with his own injury.
Later in Chicago Fire Season 8, Cruz marries Chloe Allen. She gives birth to their son in season 10 and they name him Brian after Otis.
Summary. In the Season 5 Finale, Mouch, Cruz, Dawson and Casey all have issues, but even worse is when Cruz is put on a 60-day suspension. But in the end, a fire call puts members of 51 in danger.
