4 Character Meet And Greets Confirmed For Walt Disney World in 2023 | Theme Park Tourist (2024)

For a lot of Disney fans, character meet and greets are what Walt Disney World is all about. It has been a difficult three years since the theme park closures of 2020 due to COVID-19 but it has been positive to see the come back of many popular meet and greets at the parks over the last year.

Disney has now confirmed, 4 character meet and greets which will be available at Walt Disney World in 2023. Let's take a look on the upcoming experiences guests will be able to enjoy...

1. Mirabel (Fairytale Garden, Magic Kingdom)

It was rumored in February and has now been confirmed that Mirabel from the very popular film Encanto will have her own meet and greet at the Fairytale Garden at Magic Kingdom beginning this fall.

Mirabel will take over the Merida location in the Fairytale Garden in Magic Kingdom where the area will be completely redesigned to resemble Mirabel's Casita.

2. Moana (Discovery Island, Disney's Animal Kingdom)

Fans of Moana will be pleased to hear that they will have the chance to meet her on Discovery Island at Disney's Animal Kingdom beginning April 22nd.

The 22nd April marks the 25th anniversary of Disney's Animal Kingdom which will be celebrated with new sweet and savory treats, a range of specialty merchandise and some limited-time character sightings in the park including we hear Jiminy Cricket.

Journey of Water: Inspired by Moana is slated to open at EPCOT later this year. It will be a walk through attraction which will immerse guests in a lush environment where the global cycle of water will be brought to life as guests play and interact with water as it travels from our skies to our oceans and back again. It is described as,"an exploration trail that allows you to follow the journey of the water cycle whilst also getting to know water and its fun and playful personality."

3. Figment (Imagination! Pavilion, EPCOT)

We have seen a lot of love for Figment over the last couple of years in the form of a popcorn bucket, with 7 hour lines being recorded last year during the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts presented by AT&T.

Fans of this lovable dragon will be pleased to hear that beginning this summer, Figment will be available to hug and take photos of at the Imagination! Pavilion at EPCOT.

4. Mickey Mouse and Friends (Communicore Hall, EPCOT)

Disney has confirmed that Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and friends will be coming to the new Communicore Hall as part of the EPCOT transformation towards the end of the year. This will certainly be an amazing new location for guests to meet these iconic Disney characters.
