DD and I read Where the Crawdads Sing together and she really wants to see the film. I've just tried to book tickets and it's a 15 certificate :( Having read the IMDB guide I don't have any concerns about taking her but are they actually going to check for ID?

I know a 14 year old at our local was unable to watch a film with a 15 rating - they asked for ID

The rape and domestic violence scenes are quite harrowing- apparently they’re more fleeting than in the book but they’re difficult to watch. However, you know your daughter.

Yes they have to check ID. It’s the law as with all age restricted things.

We buy our tix online and have never been asked to provide ID ever! Aged 13 and 14, seeing the occasional 15 film.

My 12 yo has never been asked in Odeon , could you try there? How tall is she? Ds is very tall do may be why he's never been asked.

Thanks, we'll go and see Jurassic Park with other DD and DH instead, and see Crawdads at home xx
