Even more retiring LEGO sets are beginning to sell out permanently online, including 10261 Roller Coaster and92177 Ship in a Bottle.
Both of those sets have been onBrick Fanatics’ regularly-updated list of retiring products for the past few months, due to be gone for good by December 31, 2021. That was never a hard and fast date, however, and there was always a chance sets could begin selling out long before then –as is now starting to happen with more and more models.
10264 Corner Garage has already disappeared in the UK and US, for example, while 10258 London Bus, 10261 Roller Coaster, 10262 James Bond Aston Martin DB5, 10267 Gingerbread House and 10277 Crocodile Locomotive have also all sold out in the UK. In fact, the only retiring Creator Expert set still available to order on this side of the pond is 10269 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy.
Plenty of sets from across other themes – such as Star Wars, Ideas, Marvel, Harry Potter and Batman – have also sold out, including 75256 Kylo Ren’s Shuttle, 92177 Ship in a Bottle, 76166 Avengers Tower Battle, 75953 Hogwarts Whomping Willow and 76159 Joker’s Trike Chase. That means they’re unlikely to ever return to LEGO.com, so you’ve basically missed your chance to grab them through official channels.
That’s bad news for anyone still holding out for any of those sets (or indeed, the many others to have already sold out) in the run-up to LEGO VIP Weekend,Black FridayandCyber Monday. While we were hoping to see end-of-line discounts across several of them for the biggest shopping events of the year, it’s now looking more likely that the real incentives during this year’s bargain-hunting period will be bonus VIP points and gifts-with-purchase.
