Permanent EastEnders exit for Ruby Allen as Louisa Lytton quits? (2024)

EastEnders star Louise Lytton has been speaking about her new life as a mum, and is unsure whether she’d ever return to the BBC One soap as her character Ruby Allen.

Ruby left Walford in the back of a police car last September.

In reality, Louisa departed the soap to go on maternity leave ahead of the birth of her first daughter, Aura.

Enjoying mum life, Louisa has said her baby is currently her priority and isn’t sure what direction life will take her when it comes to returning as Ruby Allen.

‘Yeah, I’m not sure at the moment, everything is sort of up in the air’, the actress told The Sun.

‘Not sure at the moment, I just don’t know. Now that I’ve had a baby, that’s the priority.’

She continued: ‘I don’t have time to watch TV at the moment, I watched it to get back into it after 15 years but I’m just too busy now.’

Following the birth of baby Aura, Louisa opened up to the Loose Women about how nothing prepares you for being a parent.

‘I read every book, I spoke to every friend and she’s the best thing that’s ever happened to us, but it is tough,’ she explained.

‘Ben’s been amazing. Even throughout the labour, I was so fortunate to have them there.

‘Obviously there’s been a time where women had to do that on their own, which is horrendous, but since we’ve had her, I am feeding, so that’s pretty much the only thing he can’t help out with – everything else, he’s been amazing. He’s a very hands on dad.’
