The small-scale map is set in an alternate version of San Francisco’s Alcatraz Island. It’s home to the respawn-based Resurgence mode, which rewards players with the ability to spawn back in after being defeated as long as their teammates remain active and alive.

Rebirth Island disappeared from the original Warzone when it became Warzone Caldera and hasn’t been seen since it did not return in Modern Warfare 2’s Warzone iteration. Warzone 2.0, and now the unofficial Warzone 3 (officially known as just “Warzone,” please make up your minds, Activision), has since added Vondel and Ashika Island as Resurgence maps. Now, the original one is coming home… but not just yet.

Here’s everything we know about Rebirth Island’s return to Warzone in 2024.

Currently, Rebirth Island does not have an official release date in Warzone, but Activision has said it will be coming sometime in early 2024.

Our best guess for Rebirth Island’s return to Warzone, at the earliest, is in season three. With season two beginning in early February and lasting about two months, season three will likely begin in early-to-mid April.

Not only that, but Fortune’s Keep will also be returning to Warzone sometime in 2024. The other popular, small-scale Resurgence map was short-lived during Call of Duty: Vanguard in 2022.

This means that for the first time, along with Vondel and Ashika Island, there will be four Resurgence maps in the game at once. That’s a good amount of variety for fans of Resurgence mode and all other respawn modes that come with the small-scale maps in Warzone.

Rumors have also pointed to the highly-anticipated return of Verdansk, the original Warzone map, sometime at the end of 2024 following along with Treyarch’s next major CoD release. But for now, nothing is official, so Urzikstan will remain the BR player’s home for the foreseeable future.

Of course, it’s always possible that the maps could be delayed and have their release dates pushed back, so nothing is official yet. For now, fans can look forward to the map returning sometime in 2024.

Until then, Ashika Island, Vondel, and Urzikstan will have to suffice.
