Call of Duty: Warzone 2 players are upset following the removal of a fan favorite game mode by Raven Software mere days after being added.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Players Upset Fan Favorite Mode Was Removed (1)

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 fans are expressing their disappointment and outrage after the popular game mode Resurgence Solos was removed just days after its return to the series. After a slight delay, Season 2 of Warzone 2 brought with it plenty of new content and changes to the formula including how backpacks and plates function as well as an entirely new map called Ashika Island. The map itself is smaller in scope, leading many to compare it to Rebirth Island.

However, for many longtime players, the biggest element to Season 2 was the return of the fan favorite game mode called Resurgence. Unlike the traditional battle royale mode, Resurgence takes place on smaller maps and features a much faster pace with eliminated players being able to redeploy as long as at least 1 teammate is alive. It was first added to Warzone back in December 2020, going in and out at various times, though this was the mode's first arrival into Warzone 2, leaving many fans excited to check it out once again.

However, it seems that excitement was short-lived as just four days after its arrival into Warzone 2, the solo version of Resurgence has been removed entirely. It seems the mode was only really intended to be available over the weekend, though most players were seemingly unaware of that. This isn't the firt time Raven Software has been accused of removing game modes too quickly, as this was a common complaint from the Call of Duty community during the lifespan of the first Warzone.

Fans have taken their disappointment and outrage online, calling the Raven Software developers out of touch with the community for again making a "stupid decision." In a new thread on the Call of Duty Warzone subReddit, a user known as ATurtleMelon was seemingly confused at solos being removed from the playlist. This sparked a torrent of replies from upset players including some who admitted it was hard to get 4 people online at the same time and that Solos provided a way to at least experience the new map and have some fun. Others remained convinced that Activision and those working on the game just don't care.

So far, Season 2 hasn't been entirely smooth for most Warzone players. In addition to various bugs that have interrupted gameplay including a nasty one that leaves Warzone 2 players stuck after reviving a teammate, the loot system has also seen plenty of issues including weapons and gear that have fallen through parts of the map. A new armor break message has also frustrated players as it has caused plenty of confusion with some assuming it means a player has been downed when that isn't actually the case.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
