One Piece; The after-effects of Sanji’s usage of the Raid Suit (CONTAINS SPOILERS) (2024)

Introduction

Today, we shared with you a post regarding the finished battles of the Straw Hat Pirates against the Tobiroppo. But as of now, we have yet to see the battles of the remaining members of the Straw Hat Pirates against the All-Stars of Kaido’s crew and specifically Zoro and Sanji’s battles against King and Queen. My prediction was that either Sanji would get to fight King and Zoro would get to fight Queen or the two of them would have a tag battle against Kaido’s right hand men. But as of now, I think it has been set that Zoro is going to face against King, while Sanji is going to take on Queen. And this is what we are going to talk about in this article: The context of the battle between Sanji and Queen.

Sanji vs Queen

While Zoro’s battle looked much more serious, Sanji’s fight against Queen was full of comic relief, much like many battles in One Piece. Instead of being an actual battle, all we see is Queen begging Sanji to use the Raid Suit, so that he can see with his very own eyes the piece of technology that Sanji’s father created. In numerous occassions during their battle, Queen claims that Sanji is a cyborg, much like him, as there is no way that a regular human can create fire. And it’s around that point of the battle that Sanji reveals his truth; ever since he used the Raid Suit, his body felt strange, as if it was undergoing a change.

Sanji’s body is changing

Since that time, he denied the request of using the Raid Suit and on top of that, he tried to figure out what was going on. And then, that happened. Queen would strangle Sanji with his neck, breaking his bones and his organs. However, instead of Sanji dying, his body recovered on its own, much like the bodies of the Vinsmokes did. Then, while Sanji was carelessly thinking that he didn’t want to become an emotionless bast@rd like his brothers, Queen attempted to cut his head with his sword, only for it to break on contact with Sanji’s face. Sanji’s Germa exoskeleton had been activated, breaking the sword and leaving a mark on Sanji’s face which recovered once again.

Sanji’s fears

And from that point and onwards, Sanji is afraid. He is not afraid of his enemy. No. After all, from the looks of it, he has become much, much superior compared to Queen. With the Germa technology amplifying his training of years, Sanji has become the epitome of a Germa Soldier in terms of strength, he is most likely the strongest warrior to have ever originated in the Germa Kingdom. And that is what scares him. He believes that he is about to slowly lose his emotions, much like his brothers. He believes that his usage of the Raid Suit, stopped the effects of the drug his mother took in order to prevent her children from living an emotionless life. He thinks he is going to become just like his brothers, an emotionless freak with no real feelings. Sanji is living another character development arc. The question is… Will his fears actually become true?

And the answer is simple. No. His fears won’t become a reality. Not because Sanji’s will is stronger than the effects of the Germa Technonlogy, but because the effects of the drug his mother took, may have affected ALL of her children. What if I told you that all of Sanji’s brothers DO have feelings? Could it be that the Germa Soldiers are not the emotionless freaks we have seen thus far? Now, this may sound absurd, but keep reading. What if it has to do with Sanji’s good nature that he believes that his brothers are emotionless freaks, so that he won’t absolutely blame them for their bad antics?

Why Sanji won’t lose his feelings

Obviously, the signs show that Ichiji, Niji and Yonji are emotionless. They weren’t afraid, even on the verge of death at the hands of Big Mom. But what you forget that these three received advanced military training since they were children, much like Rob Lucci did, who had no room for emotions. They always were ready to die, as they were born as soldiers, so there was no need for the fear of death. And while that may not be enough to proove to you that all of the Germa offsprings actually have feelings, just read this: All four brothers were amazed by Nami’s beauty, indicating that they have some sort of feelings. And in the end of the story, even if they deemed that Sanji didn’t belong to their kingdom, they shared with him his Raid Suit, as a sense of graditude at Sanji for saving them. Even if Sanji didn’t want to receive it, Niji sneakily gave it to him, most likely as a way to thank Sanji for his effort to save the Germa Kingdom. And that is why Sanji is not going to become an emotionless character after the usage of the Raid Suit.

Conclusion

The more I think about it, the clearer it becomes. The Germa children were all saved by Sora. Their bad habits were just their real personalities that manifested. Much like Doflamingo would always be a prick and Rosinante would always be a good boy, the same applied for the Germa brothers. Sora had succeeded in saving all of her children from the path Judge chose for them. But either way, they would become these men. And Sanji has yet to realise that. When Sanji realises it, he will finally be able to accept the Germa power up and push aside his fears of his new powers so that he can accept them as a gift and not as an evil force.

And with that being said, my post is coming to an end. Thank you for your time.
