DON'T DO IT! Your coccyx (tailbone) will thank you forever! Like others have stated, this flying sardine can has very little padding on the seats and the space is confined. WiFi on my flight never connected. Aside from rows 1 thru 4, the ENTIRE plane is the same, don't be fooled into paying $14 for this, $23 for that; YOU WILL be cramped in ANY seat and your rear end will not be happy at the end of the flight!

So, I'm a Diamond on Delta and a Million Miler. Had been thinking about doing a American Airlines Challenge to try out AA. Booked this flight with the Wife to Barbados.the room with this seat was OK because it was an Exit Row. The seat however is uncomfortable to sit in for longer than 45 minutes without having to get up and move around. I notices people in other seats not in Exit Row we're seriously cramped. Will think twice about booking on AA again and don't think I'll ever complain again about Delta Seats or service.

Flying this plane was torture. Even with main cabin extra I felt like a sardine. I think the airline wanted to see how far they could push the envelope of cramming passengers in an airplane. It was a very unpleasant experience

I thought this seat was fine. Perfectly comfortable, did not notice it being any worse than any other older 737 I have flown on. Not having a bulkhead means you can store things under the seat of the last row of first class. True, the tray is in the armrest, which is a slight negative.

Avoid these planes while you can. This may be the least comfortable seat Ive ever sat in on a plane. I got up to see if I was sitting on something but unfortunately it seems as though what little padding is in these seats just happened to be all in one spot. If you are in an aisle seat like 2B, forget about putting anything under the seat in front of you. The seats extend nearly to the floor making it impossible to stuff even a small backpack under them. They are also notably closer together. Essentially American has figured out how to make domestic first class feel like economy.

This new plane sucks. The only good thing about this plane is more overhead bin space, carryons will fit vertical. I've only flown in the first class seats and they are worse the the old coach seats. The seats are uncomfortable, like sitting on a board. There is no under seat storage on the isle seats so if you want to use a laptop during flight you have to get up an get it from the overhead. No IFE, bring your on TV. The LAV in first class is no better than coach. They should ban these LAVs as a form of torture. And to top it off the oven was broken on one flight. AA will put this plane on routes where there is no other option so we are hosed.

Awesome seat if your 3ft 2! this is supposedly a brand new aircraft/model. seats are smaller, thinner, and amazingly uncomfortable. they look and feel cheap. infact, everything about this plane is cheap. from the NIL IFE, to the manual safety demonstrations as their aren't even any overhead screens ( so 1970's) to the incredibly small bathroom.

Probably the worst mainline first class seat flying on the AA fleet today. Legroom is worse that the current 737-800 seat (although not by a lot) so this downgrade is almost a wash. Where this seat truly suffers is that every surface you touch is hard plastic or metal (the arm rests, the seatback in front of you, etc., etc.) and is thus very uncomfortable. This seat cushion is also quite hard so it is also not as comfortable as the current seat on the -800. Couple this very poor seating environment with the lack of a lav that will accommodate a normal human, the lack of a moving map, and other downgrades, the total result is an experience that is the worst premium cabin on a mainline AA aircraft today (to be honest, I'd also rate it below the premium cabins on the Eagle fleet as well). The only saving grace on my flight was a sterling crew...they worked very hard and did a really nice job. If you have an option to fly a different jet, I'd take it...and I did on my return flight home.

Poor recline. Wasted space for extra magazines instead of a screen for viewing entertainment. If you don't have a laptop or tablet, you're out of luck. Very disappointing.

Those in the 737MAX extra section are worse then in the regular 737. Seats are harder and it seems that row separation and recline have been reduced, besides the smaller number available.

I always get the bulkhead seat on the other american airlines 737-800 (738) thiose seats have the most legroom and nobody relines. However on the 738max is a different story. Rhe bulkhead has a very small space. My size14 shoes do mot fit comfortably in the limited spade

This is a good seat. You do give up a moveable armrest for legroom. But the best part is you still have underseat storage.

A little cramped for leg room, but the seat was comfortable. Very tight with other passengers beside me, felt like we were crammed in together.

LAVs are a problem. I thought this was an AA problem w/ 180+ seats, but I just flew Air Canada's (YUL-SFO) and they are equally as bad. The sink is a waste of time. Give passengers a wet wipe instead. I will connect via another city (instead of LAX) to avoid this plane. What a bad design.

This new version of the 737 is good for the airline but bad for premium passengers. The first class seats have a pitch of 37, instead of 40 in ordinary 737's, there are 18 fewer MCE seats and more rows in sardine class

Trash layout by AA. All economy seats should be yellow. Lavatories need to be colored red. The only thing is the temporary free WiFi. If this is the future I will not be flying AA anymore.

The bulkhead in. the 738s is my favourite seat. However in the 736 Max 8 the legroom has been reduced compared tiobthe other 738s. Im sure to accommodate extra seats.

Seats on the first row of emergency exit 16 do not recline. They do not even come with a recline button (unlike row 17 which has recline button). Economy Lavatory quite tight, and sink is ridiculously small.

Extemley unconfortable hard seat, limited leg room. Coach lavatories tiny. The only good thing about the 737 Max is its new and the wifi is free (for now)

Row 8 is a great row. There is no bulkhead between first class and coach, so you can put your bag under the first class seats and you have a little extra legroom. I'd recommend getting this or another MCE seat. I went and tried one of the standard seats towards the rear of the plane, and despite all the reports they aren't too bad. If you are a larger person though, you will likely be a bit cramped. I'm 6'0 tall and had just enough legroom. Keeping it in perspective, the seats are more comfortable than Frontier/Spirit/United, so you could be in a worse situation at 30,000 feet.
